Charles Merrick Jr. co-founded the firm in 1987, continuing a family legal practice into its second generation, and has led the litigation group’s trial docket ever since. He has first-chaired matters before state and federal courts and arbitration panels across commercial contract, shareholder, and regulatory disputes.
Outside the firm, he lectures periodically on trial advocacy at his law school alma mater and has served as a court-appointed mediator in complex commercial disputes.
Track Record
Resolved a multi-year shareholder dispute among the principals of a family-owned distribution company through mediated buyout, avoiding a trial that risked the company's operations.
Defended a consumer products manufacturer against trade secret misappropriation claims brought by a former supplier, obtaining summary judgment before trial.
